???? Puja Procedure for Solah Somvar Vrat
- Early Morning Purification
– Take a holy bath, wear clean white clothes, and set up a small Lord Shiva altar at home or visit a temple. - Sankalp (Vow-taking)
– Make a Sankalp (resolution) ( to observe fast and complete the rituals for sixteen consecutive Mondays. - Ganesh Puja
– Invoke Lord Ganesha’s blessings to remove all obstacles from the vrat and puja. - Kalash Sthapana & Shiva Abhishekam
– Install a Kalash and perform Abhishekam on the Shiva Linga with water, milk, honey, curd, ghee, and sugar. - Offerings to Lord Shiva
– Offer Bilva leaves, white flowers, dhoop, diya (lamp), fruits, and sweets. - Chanting & Shiva Aarti
– Recite Shiva Chalisa, Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, Om Namah Shivaya 108 times, and perform Shiva Aarti. - Reading Solah Somvar Vrat Katha
– Listen to or recite the Solah Somvar Vrat Katha, a sacred story associated with the fast. - Fasting and Prasad Distribution
– Observe a strict or partial fast depending on one’s ability (milk, fruits, or simple food allowed after sunset). Conclude with distributing prasad. - Completion Ceremony
– On the 17th Monday, after completing all sixteen fasts, perform a special puja and charity to Brahmins or the needy to fulfill the vrat.
